It was decided to use the T-70 light tank chassis for a number of the early designs. The SU 76 had a 76.2mm M-1942 (ZIS-3) field gun mounted in a fixed superstructure on a lengthened T-70 chassis. This one is in running order, and is sometimes moved to Hall 8 when it is being prepared for displays.
