Hall 8. The T-55S or T-55 Almaz (‘Diamond’) was a prototype version that did not enter production. It consisted of a standard T-55 modified in 1961; changes included the addition of specialised television monitoring devices, one at the top centre of the glacis plate for the driver and one on either side of the turret roof for the commander and gunner. It was previously on display in Hall 2 (where it is shown).
