It was in limited series production from 1968 to 1970 and entered service with the Soviet Army in small numbers. The vehicle was based on the T-62 chassis with a new low-profile turret within which the Drakon ATGM system and the radio control missile guidance systems were located. A total of 15 missiles were carried within the vehicle. The rockets had an anti-tank range of 300-3300 metres with daylight capability only.
