The Obiekt 770 was developed in 1957. The tank was armed with a 130mm gun with dual axis stabilisation and an autoloader system. The tank resembled the Obiekt 277 but featured several major design characteristics including a modified hull, a new suspension system with six large road wheels per side, a hydro-mechanical transmission system and was powered by a newly developed V-10 diesel engine developing 1000hp. The Obiekt 770 was field trialled but did not enter service with the Soviet Army.
