This Sexton is in a rusty condition. At one time it was for sale on MilWeb.net with the following text: “Sexton 2 SPG, Manufactured 1944, serial number 1903, S-287191. Running and driving condition as seen and operated at War and Peace Show 2009. This vehicle has recently been imported from the USA, having been previously imported into the USA from Portugal in the 1980’s and has been subject to re-commissioning at our workshops. Work has included stripping out all controls, engine, oil and fuel systems. All steering and mechanical controls have been overhauled, a refurbished fuel tank and associated pipe work have been installed. A refurbished oil tank and oil systems have been installed. A replacement R975 engine has been fitted and is in good running condition. The engine is fitted with Bosch magnetos and a NOS carburettor has been fitted. The engine starts and runs well. Missing road wheels were replaced and a NOS set of Canadian Dry Pin tracks fitted. Rear idler adjusters have been un-seized and are operational. Other works have included fitting a NOS 25 Pdr gun with all its sliding block and firing mechanism. This gun is live fire and can be sold to a suitable licence holder or deactivated prior to delivery. The gun mount is fully operational and has both elevation and traverse gearboxes. The Aux Gen is still fitted in the rear generator compartment and is untouched.” This Sexton is presumed to have come from SECO.
